Ronteltap Film en TV
Ferri Ronteltap (1953) is a filmmaker whose work focuses on socially engaged stories.
He created films about prominent figures such as humanist Hans Becker, artist Dolf Henkes, and the Rotterdam district Katendrecht.
In 2022, he released a documentary about the Holland Pop Festival, marking the symbolic end of the post-war reconstruction era in the Kralingse Bos.
In his current project, he offers five local African filmmakers the opportunity to make a film about their relationship with the River Nile.
I work as a filmmaker driven by a deep social commitment. My practice begins with the belief that stories are inseparable from the landscapes, cities, and histories that shape them. Rooted in documentary language, my films emerge from specific places and origins, while remaining attentive to the wider social, political, and historical forces that move beneath the surface.
In recent years, I have expanded my work into spatial media installations. By bringing film into physical space, I explore how moving images can be experienced not only as something to watch, but as something to inhabit — creating encounters that are both intimate and collective.
